April 25th is known for being 'DNA Day'. Who would've thought this could be a thing? But, alas, it is. When we think about our DNA, does it make you think of your ancestors and where you come from? We think about these kinds of things often on our end, because it is important. Why? We believe that in order to know how to be your best self in the present moment, you have to know where you've come from in in order to plan out where you are going.
Maybe you are supposed to follow in your father's or great-great grandfather's footsteps. Maybe you're meant to create your own path entierely different from anyone else in your family. Maybe you're meant to do a little of both--follow a little bit in some footsteps while creating a path somewhat brand new/on its own and somewhat familiar.
Whatever the case may be, let us not reflect lightly on or brush over this day as if it doesn't matter. In the grand scheme of things, it does. After all, a lot of how we live our lives is dependent on DNA. Whether we will have a mental illness, veer towards diabetes, or experience some sort of amazing health benefits all have to do with what's inside of us at its deepest level--molecules, cells, and a genetic code, which make up our DNA.
On that note, have a Delightful DNA Day!
