Happy National Kindergarten's Day!

You read that right above. Happy National Kindergarten's Day today! What a great unofficial way to celebrate the education, the molding of the minds, of 5 and 6 year olds. For some, it's their first experience in an organized learning format. For others, it's old hat because they've already gone through 1, if not, 2 or 3 years of Pre-School. Since we're all about continuing to learn every day, even as adults, here's some food for thought about Kindergarten... Did you know that the word Kindergarten literally means garden of children? 'Kinder' means children and 'garten' means garden. We love word origins, meanings of words, and just wordplay in general, so to discover this is what the first year of traditional schooling means is educational and fun all in one. So, if you have a little one in this grade, be sure to give them some extra encouragement today and tell them, 'great job honey' or 'great job buddy'. Sometimes all we need as human beings is a little bit of inspiration to give us the courage and strength to continue down the path of goodness. It doesn't take much to show appreciation.
