National Visit Your Relatives Day

When was the last time you visited your parents? Your aunts/uncles? Your cousins? Your nieces/nephews?

If it's been awhile, do not fret--today is a day designed specifically for that. Yes, it does seem arbitrary, but so are many other things in life.

Take Tax Day, for instance. It used to be April 15th, an arbitrary day...but now it's May 17th, and last year it was in the middle of July. Completely arbitrary! However random it may seem, there is a reason for putting it on the calendar on a specific day--to hold ourselves accountable for completing a task (like taxes), celebrating someone's life (birthday's, which are all arbitrary), holidays (many are random).

So, get on out there, be random, and visit your relatives today. And, while you're at it, any random time you feel like spending time with them. It will undoubtedly be appreciated and always welcomed.
