Numbers are all around us, aren't they? Speed limit signs. The cost of gasoline on the board at the gas station. The clock on the wall. Any math or sciene book you pick up. And, these are just a few examples! So what? Why do we point this out today? Because today is a math equation that works out perfectly: July 14th, 2021...or 7/14/21. Think about it: 7/14/21.
7 (July) + 14 (today's date)=21 (the year)
Another reason why we enjoy numbers so much is because music is based off of numbers. In music, we are really playing off of the number 4 quite a bit. Melodies and rhythms are written in 3/4, 4/4, 7/4, 6/8, 12/8, as well as other time signatures. What do all of these have in common? They're all based around or divisible by the number 4. It's no wonder a drummer in a band counts his bandmates into the number 4 when playing live--because it just feels good and it makes sense musically to do so.
At any rate, we hope you have a great day today, and be sure to look out for the numbers in your life. Maybe it has to do with a particular date. Maybe it has to do with a specific time. Whatever the case may be, it's there for a reason.
