Are you as excited as we are for this holiday weekend? We hope so! Why? Because it is a great way to celebrate all of the goodness our forefathers created in the form of the Declaration of Independence that we so freely reap the benefits from today. Otherwise, we would still be under the reign of Great Britain. We are forever grateful and thankful for everything they put into motion that we get to take advantage of in a positive way: to make a difference through something we love such as music; to start and run our own business; to live in a free society that allows people to be creative and not shut down/put away for their creativity. These are 3 simple things, and the list goes on and on. There are many people in the world that never get to take advantage of any of these things, because of stifling, pressure, or scare tactics.
So, the next time you are looking up at the flag, our Stars and Stripes, let us remember how lucky we all are to be in a first world country like the United States. In order to move forward, we have to know our history and be thankful for all those who did their best under the circumstances and knowledge they had in front of them.
On that note, let us also pay tribute to all our service men and service women who devote their lives to serving and protecting our country. This includes those in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, National Guard, the Police, Firefighters, and more.
