Happy 1st Day of Winter!

December 21st, can you believe it? It is officially the first day of winter today, and almost hte end of 2021. It really has flown by, hasn't it? So much has happened this year that it is hard to wrap your head around it all. We are so thankful and blessed to be able to provide the gift of music to those we serve and support on an ongoing basis, yet even we have run into obstacles and trouble along the way. Various changes, updates, revisions, new protocols and procedures on other organizations ends have proven to create more roadblocks, red-tape, and triple to quadruple the amount of work to get things squared away/taken care of. On occasion, we are left to scratch our heads, because some of it doesn't make any logical sense.

But, we digress.

Let us remember that even though today is the shortest day of the year, it doesn't have to mean we have to be short with others. In order to better understand where each other are coming from, let us take time to pause, reflect, and practice a little thing called 'patience'. The dark, cold days of winter may be still in store for us, but let us roll with the punches and make the best out of every situation. It is in flipping a negative or seemingly less-than-ideal situation on its head which can get the creative juices flowing on how to better systemize, proceduralize, or react with more efficient and effective alternative solutions to problems. In essence, we are setting ourselves up for more success rather than feeling like we're 'beating our heads against the wall' over and over again feeling like we're not making any progress. One small step at a time. One after the other. Sometimes it's straightforward. Sometimes it's going to the left, the right, pivoting, taking a small step back and then jumping ahead. Whatever it ends up being, we are in motion. This is how progress is made.

Happy 21st of 2021!
