This Too Shall Pass

When all seems to be going against us or putting us down, what do we lean on or where do we go to? When one bad thing after another continues to happen, do we throw in the towel or double down in our faith and perseverance? Although these can be rhetorical questions, they are very much real questions to ask ourselves throughout life. It could be a dark period or trying time (when the going gets tough, the tough get going) for you, your family, or friends. Remember, this is temporary. This too shall pass. We know it's not easy to think like this when in the thick of it, but it is really in our best interest to call this simple yet powerful phrase to mind. By doing so, we would by embodying the idea of mind over matter, and not letting external forces get the best of us. In a sense, we are praciting the philosophy of Stoicism, and not over-reacting when faced with a less-than-ideal situation. Instead, we take the time to really think about how we might respond, and this pause can make all the difference in how we go about our lives. Maybe this pause helps us reflect upon how we've been very impatient and not as caring as we could be with our loved ones. Maybe this pause is a wake-up-call for us to grow deeper in our spiritual life, inspiring us to pray more and do more service oriented work. Whatever the case may be, we can rest assured that no matter what life throws at us, there are ways to rationally, reasonably work through something with grace and love. And, to know and truly believe that we are not alone. There is comfort in this knowing that someone else on Planet Earth is going through or feeling something similar to us. Or, they have already gone through what we are going through in some small way. Don't lose hope. Keep your head held high. Stay positive. Try to find the best in every circumstance.

A wise woman once told us that 'the rainbow is coming soon'. It's so true! After a storm (literal or metaphorical), the clouds go away and the comes out, sometimes making a spectacular rainbow across the sky. Your rainbow is coming soon if it hasn't come already. Just be patient, and it will present itself to you.
