We are excited to share about the Song on the Spot performance which is slated to happen on Saturday, June 18th from 12-2PM at the Arts Council of Princeton (next to the Princeton Library). The individuals as part of SKIT (Special Kinds of Improvisational Theater) have been working hard over the last 9 months or so writing original songs through a virtual songwriting workshop in collaboration with us, Key of Awesome Music. To say this time spent has been inspiring would not even come close to the actual description of the feelings surrounding this creative endeavor. All in all, the group wrote 10 songs in this timeframe, 6 (or 7, if time allows) original songs will be performed for anyone in attendance to enjoy. This marks the first performance of this nature in the history of our 11 years in the human services field. We've showcased various individuals in the past with cover songs, but never originals in front of other people.
Let us put our hands together in celebration of this amazing collection of songs created by a handful of individuals with developmental disabilities through the guidance of Lucy Wood (SKIT) and Jim Gaven (Key of Awesome Music).
