A Much Needed Break

Sometimes in life, we need a break. The past 8 days have been nothing but awesome and adventurous for us. We've taken this time to pause, reflect, and spend a lot of time with family on some overnight stays (Kalahari Resorts in the Poconos), several day trips (Amico Island Park (with beaches), Cattus Island County Park (with beaches), all-day go-karting/bowling/trampoline jumping fun, and an all day pool day) as well as themed nights (IE: game night, movie night, bonfire night, etc...)

Let us tell you that this was a much needed break, not only from the day to day operations of maintaining and growing a small business, but of everything else going on in life as well. As much as we love making a difference in people's lives through music in the various ways we do so, everyone needs time away from what they do every day to truly inspire us when you return. As the 4th of July weekend continues to march on, let us not forget how important it is to take breaks, take time for yourself, and just 'be' a human being. You don't always need to be 'doing' something. We feel like lately that the world moves so fast around us that if we don't keep up with it by doing, doing, and doing more, we will fall behind. That couldn't be further from the truth. In order to do great work, and to continue doing great work for a long time to come, we first must 'be'. It's in the name of our species, human being. Yet, how much do we really just 'be'? We want to put it out there that we believe being is more important than doing. It is in being that we are able to take a step back, look at things from a different perspective, and see what can stay the same and what needs to change. We would go so far to say that being will help us become more productive, efficient, and happier in the final analysis. For starters, it will most certainly prevent burnout. And, secondly, it will help us realize what is most important in our lives and what really isn't.

So, don't feel bad about going out on a 2 hour hike. Don't feel bad about getting a full body massage. Whatever it is that brings you joy and peace (as long as it's moral, ethical, and legal), do it. Or, better yet, be it.

Life's too short to just work, work, work all the time. You have to carve out the time to play, play, play, or be, be, be. Otherwise, all your body, mind, and soul will know is work. And, that's nowhere near a healthy lifestyle.
