Yes, they are. They are not only time machines which can bring you to a different place and time...but also grip you in the present moment at the same time. How cool is that? Not many things in life can do that, but music can. Many important life moments can be correlated with a song, various songs, or an artist. Remember your first kiss? Remember the day you got your license? Or, the day you graduated from high school or college? The birth of a baby? Your wedding day? There is most likely a song associated with them. Music, and especially live music, has this amazing ability to tap into our pasts while being in the present moment simultaneously. It's like magic and the closest thing to Heaven on Earth, in my humble opinion. When fully immersed in the experience that is live music, it's easy to become one with the music, one with the moment, one with everyone around you. Yet, you can also go to a different place in time and space in your mind. It's moments like these you yearn for and want to never end in life that makes it so special.
