10 Poems (Written Between 2002-2006)!!!

Advantage->Dentist Stop asking me questions, I can't talk when you're plugging away at my teeth. The difference between you and me is that while you're at work, you think of sharpening your senses and you're oh so cunning wit, while I'm left with a mouthful of garbled sentences and putrid bloody spit. How am I supposed to have a normal conversation with you when you are drilling a filling with all your shiny, expensive utensils? Oh, the expectation of your sick fixation reverberates and contaminates the situation. I'm at a loss for words, you've hit that one last nerve. Ah, I give up, YOU WIN!  In my gums, the bacteria mix and viruses spread for the arrow points in your direction, you have the advantage-dentist.

Believers What is the single-most desire that you can't hide? Is it the fact that what you want and what you actually need to survive…aren't the same, and you would rather not try to figure out why your selfishness and greed have taken over your life, and you're the only one to blame for how you turned out. You're an adult now. Once you turn the age of eighteen, you can leave the house and make a name for yourself, or just leave the house and not amount to anything-it could happen, but you have to believe that it won't. You could be so wrapped up in one “thing” and put all of your efforts into that for it to all fail, but you have to believe that it won't. It's sad and scary, but, at the same time, it's so true.  No one wants to be remembered as a failure, but I don't know anyone who wouldn't want to be remembered as someone who went out into the world on their own and dedicated themselves to one “thing” they deeply cared about-their one passion, their one burning desire, their one “thing” that kept them awake at night. They believe. Taking a risk on something that may not go as planned, that may not go at all, but something that you care so much about that it hurts-now, that is something special. Believe. That shows character and perseverance, and we could all use more of that. So, I tip my hat to all those out there who are trying to find the cure for cancer, who are trying to stop abortion, who are trying to clean up the environment…because they might not even see a dramatic change in their lifetime-but I know that they are doing something that they deeply care about and something that, frankly, matters. Believe. We could all learn a thing or two from these people-the people who never give up, who fight for something they believe in so much that it takes over their life and makes them want to be a better person, to better the human race, to better the world. We need more believers.

Black and White What do we think when we hear the word black? Do we think of (we associate it with) a dark colored man or a planned gang attack? Do we get scared when we walk down the street? When it's late in the night and we're in an alley? You can, I understand, there are some people here That the dark and the night is the reason they fear. But… What do we think when we hear the word white? Do we think of (we associate it with) a light colored man or a snow covered night? Do we believe in things that we can't see? When all shapes and all sizes don't quite fit the screen? We don't seem to mind lies that question our trust We don't seem to fear things that look just like us So next time you see a man, a black or a white, Offer to shake their hand, don't think, am I wrong or right. Believe in the power of peace on this Earth When black meets a white, there is a gray area… A cause for re-birth

Joy+Pain=Bane    This was the equivalent to a pregnant woman giving birth to a fully developed fetus. It was both joyous and painful. Joyous, because you finally get to see and hold the human life you've been carrying shamelessly for nine long months that you and some other person created. Painful, on the other hand, because the size of this being you just brought into the world has ripped your private area to shreds, and you bled, bled, bled, for a lack of better words, thank the lord she came out head, first things first, you're past the worst of it, but in many respects, it's just one of many new beginnings. The beginning of a whole new way of life. You'll have to change the way you do things, ie: put her before you, because now, your main responsibility is making sure she knows what to do, and what's right from wrong. Ah, it's too much, I don't know if I can handle it all! But, I'd definitely say that the joy heavily outweighs the pain, therefore making it worth it in the end. Worth every minute, every second…this baby beckons you, loves you unconditionally more than anyone, not because she doesn't know any better, but because she just does, and, you her, I reckon, that she'll mean everything, and there's nothing you wouldn't do to make her feel like she's the only thing that's alive, the only thing that's beautiful, the only thing that really matters on this God-forsaken Earth. This is the bane of your existence, you willingly suffered through the most excruciating pain to experience, or for most of us, witness-Giving Birth.

Life, in a Nutshell Love God, Love yourself, Love your Family, They'll provide your greatest wealth,   Love thy neighbor, Love your wife, Love the strangers, In a nutshell, they'll complete your life...

The Longest Journey All the ashes in the urn, are the remnants of the burns, we receive from scorching flames, every time we curse in vain, sets the stage for a great scene, a doorway entrance that will lead, to a path of discontent, though skylarks soft and innocent show us which way to escape, through the madness of this place, to illusions in the mind, a fathom deep is where you'll find, hidden meanings to this life, or another reason why, everything is getting worse, it's like we're part of some big curse, that someone high had to create, so they could teach us about fate, and how the world is nothing less, than passing one really big test, to see if we have what it takes, to enter heaven's humble gates, and rest eternally in peace, the bread that molds us turns to yeast, and when we look down from above, we see the realm we used to love, and ponder whether we enjoyed, our lives enough to help destroy, the things we care about the most, the father, son, and holy ghost, appear in body, mind, and soul, to represent God as a whole, something so perfect and divine, a simple yet intricate design, woven to guide us through this mess, advancing forward to regress, before we're born unto this Earth, valued so much for what it's worth, did someone perish for our sake, so we could thrive here by mistake, still with all these questions of our faith, the fortress wall may never break, but here our sins are washed away, forgiven by the hymn of praise, the priest exclaims during the mass, this hour long may be our last, time to exalt his sacred name, the table's set, the altar's made, for the celebration of the host, the congregation makes a toast, to pray for humans everywhere, the spirits gather in the air, to watch the cantor sing a song, and hear the organ hum along, to this existing melody, our time extinct's eternity, but we'll still wait turns to receive, something most people don't believe, cause when we're young we have no choice, we're forced to speak without a voice, because our parent's say it's good, though I have never understood, a thing or two of what they meant, or any messages they've sent, the gospel clouds our minds with haze, the psalm predicts there's better days, but I'm unwilling to accept, the day we pay our last respects, to each and everyone who's seen, the terror of epitome, and all the hard work we have done, is thrown away just one by one, and no one wants to feel the pain, the emptiness flushed down the drain, will never cease to away, it reminds me every single day, of how our bodies are so weak, the mild yearn to be more meek, until their gentleness wears down, by then they've finally figured out, that no matter how hard we may try, we'll never make it out alive, so cherish every moment here, the hours, days, months, and the years, for life's a great but strange event, an always new experiment, that's being stirred up in disguise, to paint a picture in our eyes, but when we stop to think it through, it's already passed the point of view, the lens has magnified this piece, the broken cage lets out the beast, that lurks within each one of us, the flowers wither into dust, after our final's summer gone, and autumn's soon to bring upon, these leaves turn brown and slowly fall, onto the ground and after all, the trouble we put ourselves through, will all the people you once knew, return the favor anymore, can you forget them like before, they always went against their will, swallowed their pride and took the pill, and as it traveled down their chest, O, at his mercy they shall rest, knowing they left it on the field, this ground, this world, this place we yield, a little more than yesterday, and soon we're quick to fade away, under the setting of the sun, the moon, the stars, they are as one, they light a path not taken slow, cause we are always on the go, without us knowing what's ahead, and did you hear all that he said, we all know one thing that's for sure, his kingdom reigns forevermore, and when we think his work is done, the longest journey's just begun…

The Only Time I've Ever Lied Today was the first time I've ever lied, and when I did, I knew I should either run or hide-but either way I would be avoiding the mistake I made and even the memory of the shame…remember-remember the pain…I caused…for you; Who thought…I'd lose…a good friend because of what I made up-I did it to prove that I was imperfect, I do have flaws, that telling the truth is worth it and hard to do, and that admitting when you screw up that it was your fault. So when I tell you that my eyes are really blue and that my hair is really blonde, take it as a compliment. It just means that I'm desperately using my magic wand to try and make myself as beautiful as you. Because on the inside I feel ten feet tall, but on the outside, I'm only six feet small. We all know that it's what's on the inside that counts, so it is safe to say that no matter how much I say I care for you it would never amount to how much you really mean to me and what I have to do. So yea, today is the first time I've ever lied-the first time I've ever lied to myself, the first time I've let myself believe that I'm worthy of even being in your presence. Please, forgive me father for I have sinned, this is the only time I've ever lied…it's been 22 years since I've been to confession…

Tails Never Fails What'll it be Johnny-HEADS or TAILS? Heads…no…Tails…Wait…Tails. Tails? I know what you're thinking---Why'd he choose tails-it never lands on tails? Au contrere, mon frere, the chance of it landing on tails is just as much as it landing on heads. In fact, tails never fails. You think, no way, that's totally not true. You wanna make a bet? I'd be willing to put a pretty penny on the statement, “Tails never Fails”…For me, that is. You see, you have to have a shred of human decency in your body in order to properly respect something that is always overlooked or unappreciated, something put down, that is, in fact, face down most of the time…yet, at the same time, something that proves that even the Rudy's of the world can triumph, that the underdog can pull a huge upset over their heavily favored opponent. And, I mean, come on, who doesn't root for the underdog? This simple side of a coin represents the hard working-class man, the garbage man, the streetsweeper, the janitor, all the geeks, dorks, and dweebs, and everyone else that fits in between. That's right---Tails can do all of that. It's funny how flipping a coin can potentially decide your future nowadays. I mean, everyday you wake up, there is a 50% chance of living and a 50% chance of dying…not exactly what you want to hear, but I'm definitely willing to take my chances today. Tails…such a humble backside to a coin. Even though it doesn't receive the attention that heads doesn't fully deserve and appreciate, it never gets jealous-it just keeps plugging along and takes everything thrown its way. You have to respect that. How could you not? I, as well as many others out there in this messed up world we live in, know about this kind of adversity. Its what inherently builds character and helps you overcome any kind of obstacle that stands in your way, even against the heaviest of odds. So, at the end of the day, at the end of a long semester, at the end of senior year, pick your head up, because tails never fails, it gets an A.

Trees and Sex ...The trees smell of rotten pollen pierces your nostrils like a thousand blossomed brothels, I know that scent, that distinct aroma, I spent countless hours trying to figure out what trees and sex have in common... I came up with the conclusion that they both depend on each other, parallel to the bond you share with your mother. You see, trees breathe new life, we need them to survive, letting out oxygen, taking in carbon dioxide. You better believe sex breathes new life, when opposite genitals unite, letting all your seminal fluids slide down into your passionate newly-wed wife; and POOF! A child is born...Yea right, I wish it was that simple. Well, at any rate, without trees, there would be, no oxygen to breathe, heavily, when in the process of breeding, or even feeding the geese, next to the tree, where the freshly fallen leaves, exude an odor so displeasing, you keep sneezing and sneezing and sneezing; for a sneeze is one-tenth an orgasm, a farthing less than a fathom, I'm so deep, inside your brain, that even when you sleep, you can't contain your hormones. Is that all you think about when you're alone?

Words Words, what do they mean? are they a serious of letters placed strategically together to form some sort of Emotion, or better yet, a chain reaction? of nouns and verbs, are they really words that name a person, place, or thing Or describe a movement or action… or are they just a sequence of events set into motion? I suppose that if we juxtapose or even strike a pose that we'd see the same and different results as if they were never there, as if they never happened, or ever mattered; Because they don't compliment nor insult each other- They Just Are… Sometimes they're not supposed to make much sense, in their defense sometimes they're just said to fill up space in a conversation or for recreation- Not to be taken seriously at all. so, to be safe, don't take them in any way, just let ‘em be, After all, they are…just words…words without meaning.
