Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Erin Go Bragh. Top o' the Morning to ya! Let's get some corned beef and cabbage, wash it down with a Guiness, find a four-leaf clover, eat some Lucky Charms, find a pot of gold, and watch a parade. Of course, these are all stereotypical cliche things we do on St. Patrick's Day.

Today we celebrate and commemorate what he did for the orange, white, and green, AKA, the country of Ireland. So, what did he do?

He is credited with bringing Christianity to parts of Ireland and was partly responsible for the Christianization of the Picts and Anglo-Saxons. In doing this, he is one of the patron saints of Ireland. Great stuff!

It's interesting to learn about the origin of his contribution. To us, it is most certainly worthy of celebration. However, where did we as a society go so off-kilter with his day? It seems to us that like most other holidays, society has changed the initial meaning and reason why we celebrate to have it be more of a party and more about material things to cater to people of all ages, races, demoninations, etc...rather than keeping it consistent and paying tribute to the real reason. Let us always remember the real reason why we celebrate not only St. Patrick's Day, but other days like Easter and Christmas as well. It's important to keep the real memory alive to pass down to future generations to remember where we've come from as a human race. We hope this will encourage people to strive to be better versions of themselves every day as a result.
