Lucky Number 13

Happy March 13th! Today marks a year to the day since COVID-19 became a global area of discussion and topic of concern. Why would that be happy, you may ask? Because it has helped us collectively open our eyes to what we may have been ignoring for so long--the fact we were unprepared to handle a virus of this nature. This is a good thing, because now we are more aware of the severity of such things, have been able to creatively work around keeping each other as happy and healthy as possible with precautions, safety measures, and a little bit of common sense. And, to know that we are a year into this global pandemic and are growing stronger by the day is reassuring.

We ought to consider ourselves lucky to be living in this period of time where modern medicine is prevailing and figuring out more efficient, effective, and moral/ethical ways to beat a virus of this nature. Although this time may be tough on many levels, we can thank our lucky stars, if you will, on this 13th day of March, for modern medicine. To see all the creative endeavors for the greater good of humanity in this realm has been nothing short of inspirational and miraculous. Let us not forget all of our frontline workers in the healthcare and human services fields who have been in the thick of it day in and day out putting themselves in harm's way to serve and support their fellow brothers and sisters. Thank you for your dedication and commitment to us. It has not gone unnoticed.
