We know Cinco de Mayo is on Wednesday, not Tuesday of this week, but since we are doing our best to stay ahead of the game, if you will, we wanted to wish you a Happy (early) Cinco de Mayo, May 5th, 5/5. Before you go eating quesadillas, fajitas, burritos, make salsa and guacamole with chips, drink a margarita, or put on a sombrero, let's take a minute to remember why we celebrate this day. What is its importance? Do you know the origin of it? If not, here it is:
Cinco de Mayo, also called Anniversary of the Battle of Puebla, is a holiday celebrated in parts of Mexico and the United States in honour of a military victory in 1862 over the French forces of Napoleon III. This day is a very important one to Mexico's independence, so it's no wonder why it is still so widely celebrated.
Have a Terrific Tuesday and of course looking forward to a Wacky Wonderful Wednesday!
