Happy 7/11 Day!

Happy 7/11 Day! Even though the official celebratory 'day' is canceled (according to Google), you can still receive a free slurpee if you walk into a 7/11 and ask for one today.

We think this is a great way to connect people, even if it is socially distanced, with some bigger ideas. These ideas are free enterprise and creativity. Years ago, it was thought of as foolish and not-too-business-savvy to give something away for free or offer a discount. Why? Because the thought was that no one would ever buy something from you again as it would be a one and done type of transaction. But, the reverse was true. The average consumer started putting more trust and loyalty into their favorite brands, especially if those brands made quality products. You are more likely to continue to go back to a place if regular discounts and giveaways are provided, because you never know when one will come around again. And, you wouldn't want to miss out on it, right? It's a great sales and marketing trick, if you ask us.

So, let us pay tribute to a great establishment that has been around for 94 years as it was started in 1927 (albeit named something else). They're obviously doing something right!
