If you're over the age of 65, this day is designed for you. It's National Senior Citizens Day! There are several different kinds of discounts for being a senior citizen (cheaper to get into amusement parks/carnivals/movies and most places where a large number of people gather). Also, usually around this age, you're able to collect social security on a consistent basis to help pay for regular monthly bills and basic living activities.
In addition to this, there is an old saying of 'respect your elders', which can most certainly apply to senior citizens. There is much to learn from those who have more life experience than us, so please listen to the words of wisdom and advice they provide us. It's a great way to become a better version of yourself as well.
So, open the door for, say, 'thank you' to, and give a friendly hello to everyone today, but especially those who are senior citizens. This is the least we can do.
