Happy August! The 8th month of the year. The dog days of summer. What's crazy is that there are no official holidays or seasons that start this month. It's the only month out of the year without one! Think about it:
January: New Year's Day/Martin Luther King Day
February: Valentine's Day
March: Easter/St. Patrick's Day/First Day of Spring
April: Easter
May: Cinco de Mayo/Mother's Day/Memorial Day
June: Flag Day/First Day of Summer
July: Independence Day
August: Nothing
September: Labor Day/September 11th/First Day of Fall
October: Halloween
November: Thanksgiving/Veterans Day
December: Hanukkah/Christmas/First Day of Winter
Even though there are no holidays or seasons that start this month, what is on the calendar is National and International Friendship Day. You gotta love it! So, let us not forget that great friends are hard to come by, and when we do, they can be just as good, and sometimes, even better and closer than family.
