Spring and Summer Trips/Vacations/Getaways

The title of this post says it all. This spring and summer, we were able to get away three different times for overnight trips/vacations:

1) To Ocean City, Maryland back in April for a long weekend where we explored the beach area, amusement parks/go-kart rides, a fun indoor swimming pool multiple times a day, and the beauty of Assateague Island (National Park/Seashore with wild horses and cool trails).

2) Kalahari Resorts in Mount Pocono, PA at the end of June for another long weekend where we explored the indoor and outdoor waterpark. This place was really neat and included a hotel stay, restaurants inside the hotel resort, as well as the waterparks. Lots of fun in the sun and inside on the lazy river, several water rides, slides, playgrounds, swimming pools, basketball areas, wavepool, and hot tubs.

3) Ricketts Glen State Park in Benton, PA in the middle of August for a weekend where we explored Red Rocks Mountain (2500 feet high), Lake Jean (beach area), as well as some awesome hikes to see the more than dozen waterfalls within the park. The best part about this trip was that it was in a remote area, so no real cell-phone service. We met so many great people where we stayed (AirBnB)

We were also lucky to do many day trips this summer including all day water-park excursions to Hurricane Harbor (Six Flags), The Big Kahunas (Berlin, on multiple occasions), as well as all day bowling/go-karting/trampoline jumping (Speedway, Skyzone, Funzilla), LBI for the day (Surf City), Barnegat Bay multiple times for some private beach fun, Amico Island (beach and hiking), Cattus Island Park (beach, hiking), and half-day trips to Tyler State Park and Atsion Lake (beach and hiking in Wharton State Forest). Lots of swimming at friends and family members pools were in order, too. And, the invitations for many summer parties were also present, so those took up entire afternoons and evenings, one time an entire day!

All in all, it's been a wonderful spring and summer (so far), and we wanted to make sure we mentioned that somewhere on the blog. We are so thankful to be able to take part in the plethora of different and unique activities.

Where have you gone/what have you done this spring into summer?
