Hi Everyone! Happy World Mission Sunday :) This could mean different things to different people.
Here's what it means to us:
1) You can have your own personal mission to make a positive difference in the world, and go about that mission doing what you feel is moral, ethical, legal, encouraging/inspiring, productive/constructive, and safe for the betterment of humankind.
2) You join an organization whose mission is a positive one, something in the non-profit or charity realm, and find your meaning and purpose through their cause.
3) You are part of a Church who goes on 'missions trips' helping those in need in 3rd World countries with whatever the need is. This could be building homes in a Habitat for Humanity kind of way. This could be supplying children and schools with the proper resources (Pens, pencils, papers, notebooks, textbooks, electronic devices, electricity, clean drinking water, etc...etc...) to not just survive, but thrive as a community. This could also mean joining an organization like the Peace Corps who travel around the world on a continual basis doing much of the same, and then some, than a once a year 'missions trip'. Don't get us wrong, there is nothing wrong with an annual missions trip. We like to say, 'it's better to do so something than nothing at all.'
4) You are doing a concoction of all three of the aforementioned points: a personal mission within an organization who has a worthy mission in your local community and in the broader context of the world at large.
Whatever the case may be, we applaud all of you who has made it their 'mission', pun intended, to make a long-lasting positive impact on the world through their thoughts, words, and actions. Let us continue this way of thinking and being for many days and years to come.
